April Fools!!!!!!

Darlings,

In Lady Yoga fashion, it is my goal to look back in history to see where we have come from, find the yoga in the moments past to keep us rooted in the present and passionate about where we are going in the future.

On that note...

April Fools' Day is celebrated all around the world on the April 1 of every year. It’s not a national holiday but it’s celebrated in the form of jokes, hoax and good humored chokes of laughter.

There's a lot of speculation about the origin of this, um, holiday that's only celebrated by people who like a good laugh at others expense, like, moi!

But, the big THEY, say it began around 1582 in France when the calendar (Gregorian) changed making New Year’s Day January 1st and Not April 1st. But they didn’t have the internet back then so the info travelled rather slowly taking people many years to acknowledge the change and some rebelled altogether refusing to celebrate the new year on January first and celebrating on April 1st. What fools!

It's bad luck to play jokes after noon and those who do are considered, April Fools.

So, no matter where you happen to be in the world on April 1, don't be surprised if April fools fall playfully upon you.

Our collective intention through our yoga practice is to go forth with humor no matter what jokes are played today.
