Darlings,
In Lady Yoga fashion, it is my goal to look back in history to see where we have come from, find the yoga in the moments past to keep us rooted in the present and passionate about where we are going in the future.
On that note...
The Beatles arrived for the first time in America on February 7th, 1964. When The Beatles made their first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show Sunday, February 9, 1964,at 8PM, it was and remains the most important event in the history of rock music.
In preparation for their appearance, the CBS Television office on West-Fifty-Third Street in New York, just down the street from the apartment yours truly inhabited 35 years later, was overwhelmed by more than 50,000 requests for tickets to a studio that held 703 people. During their appearance, the Beatles sang five songs in the following order: All My Loving, Till There Was You, She Loves You, I Saw Her Standing There, and I Want To Hold Your Hand. On this night, 73 million people watched The Beatles. Their appearance had such an impact that most normal activities in America came to a standstill watching their performance. Criminal activity in most of the major cities and towns in America was put on hold, and getting a taxi or bus in New York was almost impossible, until their performance was over. Mass hysteria resulted wherever the Beatles appeared, and Beatlemania was created.
Today, our collective intention is in celebration of love and excitement. It is February and Valentines is right around the corner. So go for it, in your practice and in your life.
And below is abundant in support of that, with love from the Beatles Love songs and John Lennon. Enjoy...
Life is what happens to you when you're busy making other plans"-John Lennon
"Love is like a flower, give it time and it will grow"-J.Lennon
"Reality leaves a lot to the imagination."-John Lennon
Love is a promise, love is a souvenir, once given, never forgotten, never let it disappear." – John Lennon
We've got this gift of love, but love is like a precious plant. You can't just accept it and leave it in the cupboard or just think it's going to get on by itself. You've got to keep on watering it. You've got to really look after it and nurture it." -John Lennon
I am going into an unknown future, but I'm still all here, and still while there's life, there's hope."-John Lennon
Love is the answer and you know that for sure
All You Need is Love
You're all geniuses, and you're all beautiful. You don't need anyone to tell you who you are. You are what you are. Get out there and get peace, think peace, and live peace and breathe peace, and you'll get it as soon as you like." JL
“Who knows how long I've loved you, you know I love you still. Will I wait a lonely lifetime? If you want me to I will.”
“For I don't care too much for money, money can't buy me love.”
“Life is very short and there's no time, for fussing and fighting my friend. We can work it out.”
“Yesterday our troubles seemed so far away, I believe in yesterday.”
“Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.”
“Life goes on within you and without you”
“And in the end, the love we take will be equal to the love we make.”
“But tomorrow may rain, so I'll follow the sun”
“To every word of love I heard you whisper, the raindrops seem to play a sweet refrain.”
“But of all these friends and lovers There is no one compares with you. And these memories lose their meaning When I think of love as something new. Though I know I'll never lose affection For people and things that went before I know I'll often stop and think about them In my life, I love you more.”
“The love you take is equal to the love you make.”
“the minute I didn't feel it, I stopped.”
“The world is still spinning and so are we and so are you. When the spinning stops--that'll be the time to worry. Not before.
and the beat goes on. The beat goes on.”
Yesterday all my troubles seemed so far away. Now it looks as though they're here to stay. Oh, I believe in yesterday. - The Beatles, Yesterday
When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me, Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
If there's anything that you want, If there's anything I can do, Just call on me, And I'll send it along with love from me to you.
I've got to admit it's getting better. It's a little better all the time.
Oh I get by with a little help from my friends,
Mm, I get high with a little help from my friends.
Love, love me do, you know I love you. I'll always be true, so please, love me do.
Thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box, they tumble blindly as they make their way across the universe.
When you've seen beyond yourself, then you may find peace of mind is waiting there.
Lay down all thoughts, surrender to the void.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hung about.
Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup, they slither wildly as they slip away across the universe. Pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting through my opened mind possessing and caressing me. - The Beatles, Across The Universe
Limitless undying love which shines around me like a million suns, it calls me on and on across the universe.
The sun is up, the sky is blue, it's beautiful, and so are you.
Tomorrow may rain, so I'll follow the sun. - The Beatles, I'll Follow The Sun
When it rains or shines, it's just a state of mind. - The Beatles, Rain
For every mistake we must surely be learning
Have you heard the word is love. - The Beatles, The Word
When the broken hearted people living in the world agree, there will be an answer, let it be. - The Beatles, Let It Be
Love is old, love is new, love is all, love is you. - The Beatles, Because
When you told me you didn't need me anymore, well you know I nearly broke down and cried. - The Beatles, Oh! Darling
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun, and I say it's all right
It's getting better all the time
“To every word of love I heard you whisper, the raindrops seem to play a sweet refrain.”
And in my riff off the Beatles, here's my swan song to end practice. See if you can guess where I got this from...
It's wonderful to be here
It's certainly a thrill
You're such a lovely audience
We'd like to take you home with us
We'd love to take you home
I don't really want to stop the show
But I thought you might like to know
That this teacher’s going to sing a song
Before she let’s you all hurry along
So let me introduce to you
The one and only resting pose
In honor of the Beatle’s Yoga's Sivasanaaaaaa!!!!!!
I ain't got nothin' but love babe, eight days a week,
Lady
