You are Youer than You

Darlings,

In Lady Yoga fashion, it is my goal to look back in history to see where we have come from, find the yoga in the moments past to keep us rooted in the present and passionate about where we are going in the future.

On that note...

The American writer and cartoonist, Theodor Seuss Geisel (pronounced /ˈɡaɪzəl/; aka Dr. Seuss was born today, March 2nd back in 1904 (died 9/24/91).

His children’s books are an institution with imaginative characters, rhyme and trisyllabic meter.

The ones we know and love include Green Eggs and Ham, The Cat In the Hat, Horton Hears a Who! and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Many of his works have been adapted for stage and screen, little and big. In addition, March 2nd has been adopted as National Read Across America Day.

Let’s celebrate the playfulness of the postures and rhyme our breath with our movement with the great words of a super cool dude.

Today you are you! That is truer than true! There is no one alive who is you-er than you!

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.”

“And will you succeed? Yes indeed, yes indeed! Ninety-eight and three-quarters percent guaranteed!”

“Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the things you can think up if only you try!”

Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So... get on your way.”

“If you never did you should. These things are fun and fun is good”

“You are you. Now, isn't that pleasant?”

“Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple.”

"I meant what I said and I said what I meant."

"How did it get so late so soon? Its night before its afternoon. December is here before its June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon?"

"Today was good. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one."

"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself Any direction you choose."

"From there to here from here to there funny things are everywhere."

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

From there to here, and here to there, funny things are everywhere.

You can get help from teachers, but you are going to have to learn a lot by yourself, sitting alone in a room.

Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.

You're in pretty good shape for the shape you are in...

Love ya,

Lady
